With JGS since 2024
Darcey Ulvila is a passionate and experienced elementary educator who joined The Jones-Gordon School in 2024. She holds a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Northwestern University, where she graduated with a 4.0 GPA, and a Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunications and Business from Indiana University. Darcey also holds National Board Certification in Literacy: Reading-Language Arts for Early and Middle Childhood—a prestigious recognition of instructional excellence.
Darcey began her career at Washington Irving Elementary School in Chicago, where she taught both 3rd and 5th grade and led her classrooms with care, clarity, and a love of learning. After stepping away from the profession to raise her family, she returned to education and joined JGS part-time before transitioning into a full-time teaching role. During the 2024–25 school year, she stepped in to lead the 3rd grade classroom and will take on the role of 5th grade teacher in the year ahead.
Darcey brings a calm, confident presence and a commitment to nurturing every child’s growth—academically, socially, and emotionally. She is excited to continue building strong relationships with students and families as she steps into her full-time role in the JGS Lower School.
