Did you know? The month of October is National Bullying Prevention Month as well as Dyslexia and ADHD Awareness Month. Although at JGS we continually address each of these areas through various programming, we are currently placing a special emphasis on Bullying Prevention (with a focus on Dyslexia and ADHD awareness later in the month and year).

Under Michaela’s guidance, students have been learning exactly what bullying is, and about the power of kindness in the face of bullying. Before the break, students watched the following short video clips about a boy bullied for his homemade college spirit day t-shirt:

The message we hope to impart? We can defeat bullying with kindness! Students have been asked: How can you make a difference when spotting potential bullying actions? What kind steps can you take? Students were also asked to design a t-shirt to embody kindness and that represents JGS’ school spirit. If your child would like a chance to have their t-shirt design produced (on actual t-shirts!) for the JGS community, have them turn in their ideas to Ms. Michaela!
