A teacher and tutor with our team for 15+ years, Mike is a student favorite for his wry sense of humor, which couples beautifully with his calm demeanor to make his classroom a fun and easy place to learn. Mike holds degrees in History from ASU and Central Michigan University, and the depth of his knowledge in his subject area is vast. His teaching style incorporates project-based learning and Socratic instruction, which helps his students become strong critical thinkers on a variety of topics. Mike is at the forefront of innovation when it comes to his secondary social studies curriculum. Most notably, he spearheaded the freshman seminar, Human Geography, which is based on the Advanced Placement (AP) class of the same name and has become a cornerstone of our high school programming.
