Lifelong educator Melissa Wiegand is a crucial part of JGS’ success as Arizona’s dyslexia school, as she is not just the Wilson Program Director but also a Wilson Credentialed Trainer. After earning her undergraduate degree in Special Education, Elementary Education, and Reading at Ohio University and her Master of Education degree at Arizona State University, Ms. Melissa has compiled 29 years of experience as a teacher, including 11 with us at The Jones-Gordon School. A dyslexia expert, she maintains the titles of a Certified Academic Language Therapist, a Certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Therapist, a Wilson Dyslexia Therapist, and a Wilson Credentialed Trainer, Married with two adult children, Ms. Melissa enjoys weightlifting, running, camping, reading, and baking in her free time.
